The upcoming season will also see a window open up for loaning out capped players mid-way through the tournament. The payment details are yet to be finalised, but it will only be open to players who have played a maximum of two matches in the first-half of the tournament.

Last season, a five-day window was created for trading uncapped players. However, none of the franchises decided to utilise it. A similar window will be open this season as well, which will open the scope of transfer for all the players who have featured in two or fewer games.

These decisions, along with having an additional umpire to check on no-balls for the upcoming season was taken during a IPL GC meeting On December 5. There were discussions around more changes to the next edition of the tournament, including having an additional team to the women's IPL -- but none finalised.
