India added 62 runs but lost both their openers on the second afternoon after Australia were restricted to 369 at Lunch. Both Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma looked at ease on a good batting surface but the pace and bounce on offer meant that the bowlers were always in with a chance.

Rohit though was dismissed in the deep off Nathan Lyon, who got the ball to spin in and forced a false shot. Until that point, the India opener had looked in control, driving down the ground and cutting anything short and wide of off-stump.
